The aim of this investigation was to study the effect of chewing sucrose-containing gum, xylitol-sorbitol-containing gum and natural gum (Pistacia lenticus) on the pH recovery of sucrose challenged dental plaque. Plaque pH was measured by microtouch electrode method on two-days old plaque. The results of the present study suggest that the chewing gum increases plaque pH. Chewing natural gum created the highest plaque pH values.en_US
