dc.description.abstractBu tez, M.Ö. 1. Binde yumuşakça kabuklarının kullanım amaçları ve sosyal işlevleri üzerine yoğunlaşarak, dönemin kültürel yapısına nasıl katkıda bulunduğuna değinmektedir. Bu anlamda döneme dair Akdeniz çevresinde ele geçen mezar kontekstlerinin bir parçası olarak yumuşakça kabuklarının oldukça farklı anlamlandırmalara sahip olduğu görülmektedir. Tez kapsamında Antandros Nekropolisi'nden ele geçen örnekler öncelikle Antandros'un Yamaç Ev ve Yol Üstü sektörleri olmak üzere iki farklı günlük yaşam alanlarından gelen örnekler ile karşılaştırılarak analiz edilmiştir. Antandros Nekropolisi'nden ele geçen örnekler Akdeniz çevresindeki yumuşakça kabuğu kontekstli mezarlarla karşılaştırılarak kontekst içerisindeki konumu analiz edilmiştir. Antandros' ta toplamda 17 mezarın kontekstinde yumuşakça kabuğu ele geçmiştir ve Arkaik Dönem çocuk mezarlarında yoğunlaştığı görülmüştür.
dc.description.abstractThis thesis focuses on the uses and social functions of mollusk shells during the 1st millennium BCE and how they contributed to the cultural structure of the period. In this context, mollusk shells are found as part of burial contexts in the Mediterranean region during this period, and they have been interpreted in various ways. Within the scope of this study, examples from the Antandros Necropolis were analyzed by comparing them with examples from two different daily life areas of Antandros: the Roman Villa and the Roadside sectors. The findings from the Antandros Necropolis were compared with mollusk shell contexts in Mediterranean burial sites to analyze their positioning within the burial contexts. Mollusk shells were found in the context of a total of 17 graves in Antandros and it was observed that they were concentrated in Archaic Period child graves.
