Yetiştiricilik ve avcılıkta ticari öneme sahip çipura (Sparus aurata L.,1758)'ların morfometrik ve meristik özelliklerini tespit etmek oldukça önemlidir. Genellikle bu özelliklerin çoğu dıştan gözlemle incelenir; fakat bunlardan bazılarının görünmesi imkansızdır. Bu nedenle, çeşitli hayvanların normal ve anormal vücut şeklinin saptanması için bazı farklı teşhis teknikleri kullanılmaktadır. Bu teşhis tekniklerinden biri X-ray'dir. Diyagnostik radyografi yöntemleri özellikle kemik doku ve iskelet sisteminin incelenmesinde kullanılmaktadır. Örneğin, vertebral omurga, kafatası, yüzgeç yapısı, anomaliler ve iskelet sistemindeki bozuklukların şeklinin saptanması. Bu çalışmada, Homa Dalyanı (İzmir Körfezi)'ndan elde edilmiş çipuraların omurgası, yüzme kesesi, kafatası ve yüzgeç yapıları incelenmiştir. Ayrıca bu balıkların incelenmesinde X-ray yöntemi tanımlanmıştır. 3 farklı X-ray yöntemi kullanılmış ve çipura örneklerinin bütün kemik yapıları belirlenmiştir. 75 MA, 0.025 sn ve 40 kW'ye sahip ikinci yöntem en uygun X-ray yöntemi olarak bulunmuştur. X-ray yöntemi vasıtasıyla 23 omurga sayılmış ve omurganın yapısı gözlemlenmiştir.
Determination the biological, morphometric and meristic characters of gilt-head sea bream (Sparus aurata L, 1758) which has a significant commercially importance for all of the aquaculture and fishery is rather important. Generally, many of these characters are examined with observation but some of them are seen impossible. Thus, it has use some different diagnosis technics for determine the normal body shape and abnormal shape of various animals. One of these diagnostic technics is X-ray. Diagnostic radyographic methods especially use for the examined of bones tissue and bone system. For instance, determined the shape of vertebral columns, cranium, fin structures, anomalies and abnormalities of bone system. in this research, it has investigated of vertebral columns, swim bladder, cranium and fin structures of Spraus aurata obtained from Homa Lagoon (Izmir Bay). Also, it was descripted the examination of X-ray method for this fish. Three different X-ray method was used for these fish and it was determined and fixed the all bone structures of Spraus aurata samples. the suitable X-ray method was found the second test that has 75 MA, 0.025 sn and 40 kW. It was counted 23 vertebrates and observed the structure of columna vertebralis by means of X-ray method.
