Özet
Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, Manisa ve İzmir illerinde ceviz yetiştiriciliğinin sosyo-ekonomik yönüne ilişkin bilgi eksikliğini gidermeye çalışmak ve karşılaşılan sorunlara ilişkin bazı önerilerde bulunmaktır. Çalışma materyalini İzmir ve Manisa illerinde ceviz yetiştiriciliğinin yoğun olarak yapıldığı ilçe ve köylerden gayeli olarak seçilen, ceviz yetiştiriciliği yapan 60 işletmeden toplanan orijinal nitelikli veriler oluşturmuştur. İncelenen işletmeler sahip oldukları ceviz ağacı sayısının frekans dağılımı dikkate alınarak üç gruba ayrılmıştır. Veriler 2001 üretim dönemine ait bulunmaktadır. Çalışmada, ceviz üreticilerinin sosyo-ekonomik özellikleri, işletmelerin yapısal durumu, ceviz üreticilerinin üretim ve pazarlama aşamasında karşılaştığı sorunlar saptanmaya çalışılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular ışığında gerek araştırma bölgesi ve gerekse Türkiye ceviz yetiştiriciliğinin iyileştirilebilmesi ve geliştirilebilmesi konusunda alınabilecek önlemler tartışılmış ve bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the socio-economical situations of walnut growers and make some suggestions towards the problems faced in İzmir and Manisa provinces. The data were obtained from 60 walnut farm managers chosen purposely in the towns and villages of İzmir and Manisa where the walnut production is fairly intensive. The farms were classified into three groups according to number of walnut trees. The data belongs to 2001 production period. The socio-economical characteristics of walnut producers and structure of farms were investigated and the problems faced by producers at the production and marketing levels were tried to be determined. In the light of the research results, the measures towards the improvements of walnut production both in the research region and in Turkey as a whole were discussed and some suggestions were made.
