Özet
19. yüzyılda Kafkas coğrafyasına gelen Batılı bilim insanları ve seyyahlar tarafından yazılan metinler, bölgenin araştırılması için bağımsız kaynaklar niteliği taşımaktadır. Seyahatnameler aracılığıyla Kafkas kültürünün renkli folklorik yapısı hakkında kapsamlı bilgilere ulaşmak mümkündür. Bu çalışmada ele alınan kadın teması, özellikle oryantalist çalışmalarda geniş bir yere ve öneme sahip olan Doğulu kadın imgesi üzerinden Kafkas kadınlarının incelenmesidir. Dönemin koşulları altında Batılı bir erkeğin gözünde kadının toplumsal yapıdaki yerinin nasıl algılandığı, çalışmanın en temel soruları arasında yer almaktadır. Kadınların Kafkas kültüründe nasıl konumlandırıldıkları, hak ve özgürlükleri ile sınırlılıklarına ilişkin sorular toplumsal cinsiyet normları üzerinden incelenmiştir. Bu unsurların toplumda nasıl ve ne şekilde yer edindiğine ilişkin veriler analiz edilerek Kafkas kadınının toplumsal yapı içerisindeki konumu ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.
In the 19th century, the texts written by Western scientists and travelers who came to Caucasus geography are independent sources for the study of the region. Through travelogues, it is possible to obtain comprehensive information about the colorful folkloric structure of Caucasian culture. The subject of women in this study is the examination of Caucasian women through the image of the Eastern woman, which has a large place and importance, especially in orientalist studies. How the place of women in the social structure is perceived in the eyes of a Western man under the conditions of the period is among the most fundamental questions of the study. The questions on how women are positioned in Caucasian culture, their rights and freedoms, and their limitations were analyzed through gender norms. By analyzing the data on what and how these factors have taken place in society, the position of Caucasian women in the social structure has been tried to be revealed.
