dc.description.abstractUzun süreli damariçi kateter kullanımında infeksiyon riskini araştırmak amacıyla Anesteziyoloji ve Reanimasyon Kliniği Yoğun Bakım Ünitesi'nde yatmakta olan 97 hastaya ait 291 örnek (kan, kateter ucu, kateter giriş yeri sürüntüsü) mikrobiyolojik olarak incelemeye alındı. Doksan-yedi hastanın 14'ünde (% 14.4) kateter infeksiyonu saptanırken 13 (% 13.4) hastada kateterin kolonize oiduğu görüldü. Bu arada çalışmaya alınan hastalar kan kültürleri ve klinik bulgularına göre değerlendirilip 32 (% 33.3) hastaya sepsis tanısı kondu. Sepsis gelişen hastaların yaklaşık yarısında kateterin infekte olduğu görüldü.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn order to investigate the role of longterm intravenous catheter use in the development of catheter colonization and infection, 291 samples (blood, catheter tips, swabs from catheter insertion sites) were microbiologically studied of 97 patients hospitalized in intensive care unit of Anestesiology and Reanimation. Catheter related infection was diagnosed in 14 (14.4 %) of 97 patients and catheter colonization was found in 13 of 97 (13.4 %) patients. Meanwhile, patients were evaluated according to blood cultures and clinic findings, and septicemia was diagnosed in 32 (33.3 %) patients. Catheter related infection was present in about half of these patients.en_US
