Özet
ABSTRACT Aromatic rich cracker fuel oil is one of the by-products of Naphtha Steam Cracking Plant of Petkim Holding A.Ş. in Aliağa. The amount of production of aromatic rich cracker fuel oil is about %4 of the naphtha charged to the system. 3000 MT naphtha/day is charged to system. So, the amount of aromatic rich cracker fuel oil obtained as a by-product is about 120 MT/day. On the other hand, 6# fuel oil is used, as an energy source, in the Steam Production Plant. 6# fuel oil consumption of that plant is 100 MT/day. At the present time, aromatic rich craker fuel oil is just used as raw material in production of Carbon Black. Because of its limited field of use, it's obvious that the using of aromatic rich craker fuel oil in steam production unit provides an economical benefit at that condition. This study includes a comparision of aromatic rich craker fuel oil which is considered as an alternative energy source and 6# fuel oil by chracterization of the two sources with analytical and instrumental analysis methods.
