Purpose: To examine the effect of animation video training given to geriatric cancer patients on falling behaviors. Materials and Methods: The research was carried out between May 2022 and May 2023 at Ege University Medical Faculty Medical Oncology Department Polyclinic, Hematology Department Polyclinic and Berna Türek Chemotherapy Center. The sample of the study consisted of 89 patients who met the inclusion criteria of the study and were determined by the block and stratified randomization method, including 44 control (standard care) and 45 intervention (animated video) groups. The data of the study were 'Individual Introduction Form', ''Question Form Regarding Fall'', ''Fall Risk Assessment Scale (FRAS)'', ''Falling Behaviors Scale for the Elderly (FBS)'', for the beginning, first month and third month. and the "Home Environmental Characteristics Evaluation Form for Falling (HECEF)". Written consent was obtained from the participating patients. In the analysis of the data, descriptive, parametric and nonparametric tests were used according to the distribution of the data. Results: The mean age of the patients participating in the study was 69.71±4.04 years, and the mean duration of diagnosis was 36.44±36.77 months. According to the onset time FRAS results of the patients in the control group, 56.8% and 68.9% of the patients in the intervention group are at high risk. During the follow-up periods of the patients in the control group, the total mean scores of FBS and HECEF did not change; The mean total score of the patients in the intervention group increased during the follow-up periods, while the mean total score of HECEF decreased, and this difference was found to be statistically significant (p<0.05). Conclusion and Suggestion: It was determined that geriatric cancer patients who were given animation video fall prevention training developed more safe behaviors to prevent falls compared to the control group, and at the same time, home regulations for fall prevention were determined. It is recommended that the use of animation video training is beneficial in preventing falls in geriatric cancer patients and it should be used in patient education in the clinical field.
