dc.description.abstract59 6. Of perennial weed species with grassleaves, Phleum pratense L. was not found considerable in abundance during the first year of trial, in the maize-stubble and during the study of two years in the wheat field in which weed was sown in the wheat-stubble. On the other hand, in the second year it was found considerable in -abundance where direct -drilling and mini mum soil tillage were performed, while it was not seen consi derable where ploughing was applied. 7. Of annual species "Graminae", Avena spp. was seen to emerge more abundantly in the wheat field with wheat-stubble where direct -drilling and minimum soil tillage were made then in the plots where ploughing was performed, while in the wheat field, with maize-stubble, it was not found considerable in abundance. Alepecurus myosuroides Hudson of Graminae was seen considerable in abundance in the first year in the wheat field with maize-stubble where direct-drilling was made as compared with the other soil tillage methods, while in the second year it was not found considerable in abundance. On the other hand, in the wheat field with wheat-stubble A^ myosuroides, in the first year was not established an abundant weed, while in the second year, in the plots where direct-drilling was performed by Amazone, was found to emerge much more than in the plots where the other soil tillage methods were applied. 8. in both trial fields, Phalaris eanariensis L. of grass- leaves was found a dominant species among other weed species60 and was seen considerable where direct- drilling and minimum soil tillage methods were made. 9. in the trial fields, in general the all broadleaf weeds were established to emerge much more where ploughing and minimum soil tillage methods were made than where direct- drilling was made. Total grassleaf -weeds were found to appear much more in abundance where direct-drilling and minimum soil tillage were made than in the ploughing plots. 10. Avena spp. and p^ canariensis of Graminae were found higher in value of height, age and dry weight in the plots in which direct-drillling and minimum soil tillage methods were performed than in the plots where ploughing was made.59 6.
