dc.description.abstractEkinokokkozis, özellikle kistik ekinokokkozis yurdumuzda halen önemini koruyan bir parazit hastalığı olma özelliğini taşımaktadır. Helment hastalıkları içinde gerek insan ve hayvan sağlığı gerekse ekonomik olarak son derece önemlidir. Bu nedenle daha önceki yıllarla kıyaslama yapabilmek ve Kist Hidatik'in son yıllardaki durumunu ortaya koyabilmek amacı ile İzmir ve çevresindeki Kist Hidatik olgularının dağılımını saptamak için retrospektif bir çalışma yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada son yıllarda (Ocak 1997- Mayıs 2001 yılları arasında) İzmir ilindeki 11 değişik hastanedeki (Ege ve Dokuz Eylül Tıp Fakülteleri ile Devlet ve SSK Hastanelerine) Kist hidatik olguları değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Hastalar hakkında yaş, cinsiyet, adres, kistin yeri ve tedavi ile ilgili bilgiler toplanmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu bilgilerin ışığı altında İzmir ve civarında son iki yılda saptanan Kist Hidatikli olgu sayısı toplam 840 olup, bu olguların 489 (58,2%)'i kadın, 351 (41,8 %)'si erkektir. Olgular geniş bir yaş dağılımı göstermektedir. En genç olgu 1,5 en yaşlı olgu ise 83 yaşında olup; yaş ortalaması kadınlarda 41,5 erkeklerde 42,8 ve tüm olguların yaş ortalaması ise 41,4'dür.en_US
dc.description.abstractCystic echinococcosis (CE) still is a primarily important parasitic disease in Turkey. This helminthic disease is not only important in human and animal health but economically as well. The aim of this retrospective study was the comparison of the present with previous years and establishment of the distribution of hydatid disease in patients in Izmir. Patients who were diagnosed between January 1997-May 2001 in 11 different hospitals (Ege and Dokuz Eylül University hospitals as well as State and SSK hospitals) were included in this study. Information concerned with age, sex, and addresses of the patients as well as the location and size of the cystsawgis collected. A total of 840 cases of hydatid disease have been found in Izmir and surrounding areas. Of these patients, 489 (58.2%)>%ere women and 351 (41.8 %), men. The age distribution of the cases ranged widely between 1.5 and 83 years. The mean ages for women and men were 41.5 and 42.8, respectively and the overall mean age was 41.4.en_US
