dc.description.abstractİkinci Dünya Savaşı başlangıcı olan 1939 ile Türkiye'nin NATO'ya alındığı 1952 yılları arasındaki süreçte Türk-Amerikan siyasi ilişkileri, ekonomik ve özellikle de askeri ve buna dayalı güvenlik temelli konular üzerinden şekillenmiştir. Bu sürecin İkinci Dünya Savaşı'nın yaşandığı 1939-1945 yılları arasındaki Türk-Amerikan siyasi ilişkileri ise geçmiş ilişkilere göre yoğunluk ve çeşitlilik arz etse de İngiltere'nin gölgesinde biçimlenmekten kurtulamamıştır. Savaş sonrasında şekillenen soğuk savaş ve buna dayalı ?çift kutuplu? dünya sistemi iki ülkeyi birbirine yakınlaştırmış, özellikle bu yakınlık Türkiye için İkinci Dünya Savaşı'ndan hemen sonra yaşadığı Sovyet tehdidi karşısında daha da aranılır olmuştur. Amerika için soğuk savaş şekillenmesi ve Türkiye için ise mevcut Sovyet tehdidi, iki ülkenin karşılıklı güvenlik çıkarlarının örtüşmesiyle sonuçlanmış, Türkiye'nin NATO'ya üye olmasıyla da iki ülke arasındaki yakınlaşma ittifaka dönüşmüştüren_US
dc.description.abstractTurkish-American political relations has been shaped on economic and especially on military subjects, which are based on security issues, between the years of 1939 and 1952. Turkish-American political relations during the Second World War can not be get rid of the English policies, even those relations were intense and various, compared to the former relations. The cold war and dipoled world system, the result of that cold war, which was shaped at the end of the Second World War, has caused to rapprochment between Turkey and the United States. Especially this rapprochment has intensely to be inquired during the Soviet threat to Turkey after the Second World War. The shaping of cold war for he United States and the current Soviet threat to Turkey, has been finalized with two countries overlapping of their common interests, and consequently with Turkey?s admission to NATO, the rapprochment between Turkey and the United States has changed into an alliance.en_US
