dc.description.abstractAmaç: Bu çalışma Ödemiş ilçesindeki intihargirişimlerinin incelenmesi ve ilişkili etmenlerininbelirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu araştırma, retrospektif olarakyapılmıştır. İzmir ilinin Ödemiş ilçesindeki intihargirişimleri ile ilgili resmi kayıtların birleştirilmesiyleOcak 2008-2009 Aralık döneminde intihargirişiminde bulunan 321 kişi araştırmanın evrenini,halen Ödemiş İlçe Merkezinde yaşayan, araştırmayakatılmayı kabul eden 57 kişi örneklemioluşturmuştur. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasındaliteratür doğrultusunda araştırmacılar tarafındanoluşturulan 43 soruluk form kullanılmış ve verilerTemmuz-Aralık 2010 tarihleri arasında yüz yüzegörüşme yöntemiyle toplanmış, veriler tanımlayıcıistatistik ve ki-kare analizleri ile değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: İntihar girişiminde bulunan bireylerinyaklaşık %50,9'u 25 yaş ve üzerinde, %78,9'u kadınidi ve %14'ünün aile bireylerinde intihar öyküsübildirilmiştir. Bireylerin intihar girişimine neden olarakgösterdikleri etmenlerin başında ailevi sorunlar(%66,7) bildirilmiştir. Katılımcılar en çok ilkbaharmevsiminde (%40,4) ve %72'si ilk kez intihargirişiminde bulunmuştur, %78,9'u intiharıplanlanmadan gerçekleştirmiştir ve %86'sı tıbbi ilaçya da tarım ilacı içme yoluyla ve %91,2'si evdeintihar girişimini gerçekleştirmiştir. Sonuç: Bu araştırmadan elde edilen verilerÖdemiş'teki intihar önleme amacıyla yapılacak sosyalçalışmalar için veri olarak kullanılmak amacıylaÖdemiş Kaymakamlığına rapor edilmiştir.en_US
dc.description.abstractAim: The aim of this study was to examine thesuicide attempts in Ödemiş district and to ascertainthe factors associated with these occurrences.Material and Method: This study was performedretrospectively. The study population consisted of321 people who have attempted suicide betweenJanuary 2008 and December 2009 and have beenfound by searching the official records of Ödemişdistrict in İzmir province of Turkey for the suicideattempts. The sample of the study was composed of57 people still living in Ödemiş district center andwho agreed to participate in the study. A 43questions form that has been created by theresearchers in line with the literature was used tocollect data through face-to-face interviewsconducted between July and December 2010.Descriptive statistics and chi-squared test were usedto analyse data.Findings: Of the people, who have attemptedsuicide, 50.9% were 25 or more years of age,78.9% were female and 14% reported having afamily member with a history of suicide. Familyproblems were mainly reported reason for theirsuicide attempts (66.7%). Spring was found to bethe season in which most of the suicide attemptsoccurred (40.4%). Of the suicide attempts, 72%were first attempt, 78.9% were unplanned, 86%were carried out by taking medicines or agriculturalchemicals and 91.2% took place at home.Conclusions: The data obtained in this study werereported to Ödemiş District Governor's Office foruse in social work to be performed to preventsuicides in Ödemiş.en_US
