Verbascum parviflorum Lam. bitkisinin uçucu yağ bileşenlerinin ve antioksidan aktivitesinin saptanması

| dc.description.abstract | Dünya genelinde yaklaşık 360 türe sahip olan Verbascum türleri Scrophulariaceae familyasının en geniş genusudur. Türkiye’de, “sığırkuyruğu” olarak bilinen ve çok sayıda türle yayılış gösteren Verbascum genusu, halk arasında balgam söktürücü, göğüs yumuşatıcı, yara iyi edici etkilerine ek olarak, hemoroit ve romatizma tedavisinde kullanılmaktadır. Verbascum parviflorum bitkisi, Batı Anadolu’ da yayılış gösteren endemik bir türdür. Mevcut çalışmamızda, İzmir/Tire Güme Dağı’ndan toplanan bu bitkiden Clevenger (su buharı distilasyon) cihazı ile uçucu yağ elde edip, bu uçucu yağın GC/MS ile analizini gerçekleştirdik. Toplamda 23 adet molekül tayin edildi ve α-terpineol major bileşik olarak saptandı. Daha sonra bitkiden elde edilen metanol ekstresi üzerinde DPPH, metal şelatlama, ve CUPRAC yöntemleri ile antioksidan aktivite tayini çalışması yapıldı. DPPH ve CUPRAC yöntemleriyle yapılan deneylerde IC50 değerleri sırasıyla; 65,2 ± 072 ve 38,46 ± 055 μg/mL olarak hesaplandı. Metal şelatlama yöntemiyle yapılan deneyde ise, yüzde inhibisyon değeri 12,8 ± 27 olarak bulundu. Sonuç olarak, ülkemizde yetişen ve endemik olan bu türün düşük verimde bir uçucu yağa ve orta derecede bir antioksidan kapasiteye sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Verbascum species, which have approximately 360 species worldwide, are the largest genus of Scrophulariaceae family. The genus Verbascum, commonly known as “mullein”, which spread to many species, is used for expectorant, mucolytic and wound healing effects as well as in the treatment of rheumatism and hemorrhoids in the folk medicine. Verbascum parviflorum is an endemic species in Western Anatolia. In the present study, we obtained essential oil from this plant, collected from Güme mountain in Tire/Izmir, with Clevenger (water vapor distillation) device and analyzed this essential oil by GC/MS. A total of 23 molecules were identified and α-terpineol was the major compound. Then, antioxidant activity was determined by DPPH, metal chelating and CUPRAC methods in methanol extract obtained from the plant. In the experiments carried out by DPPH and CUPRAC methods, IC50 values were; 65.2 ± 072 and 38.46 ± 055 μg/mL, respectively. The percent inhibition value was found to be 12.8 ± 27 in metal chelating assay. As a result, it was determined that this species, which is grown endemically in our country, has low yield essential oil and moderate antioxidant activity. | en_US |
