Özet
Lingual tiroit çok nadir bir patoloji olmasa da, üst solunum-sindirim yolunda tıkanıklık oluşturan ve cerrahi uygulanan olgu sayısı literatürde oldukça azdır. Cerrahi uygulanacak lezyonlar, kanama riski, büyük boyutta oluşları ve yerleşimleri nedeniyle teknik açıdan zorluk oluştururlar. Bu yazıda, yutma ve solunum güçlüğü oluşturması nedeniyle cerrahi endikasyon konulan ve transhyoid yaklaşım ile ameliyat edilen lingual tiroitli 47 yaşında bir erkek hasta sunuldu.
Lingual thyroid is not an unusual pathology; however, in the literature, the number of patients treated surgically because of obstruction in the upper aerodigestive tract is limited. Surgical removal of such lesions is challenging because of the risk of massive bleeding, the size, and the localization of the mass. We report a 47-year-old male patient who presented with dyspnea and dysphagia and underwent surgery using the transhyoid approach.
