dc.description.abstractAmaç: Viroloji-Seroloji laboratuvarına 20 iş günü içinde gelen toplam 2000 laboratuvar isteği gereksiz istekler açısından değerlendirilmesi ve maliyetlerinin çıkarılması amaçlandı. Gereç ve ve Gereç: 25 Mayıs-1 Haziran 2009 ve 8-15 Mart 2010 tarihlerinde iki farklı dönemde toplam 2000 hastanın laboratuvar istek kağıdı ve istenen tetkikleri toplam 20 iş gününde laboratuvar numara sırasına göre değerlendirildi. İsteklerin gerekli olup olmadıklarına; olguların gönderildikleri yer, ICD-10 kodları, gönderen hekimin ünvanı ve kayıtlarımızdaki önceki sonuçlarına göre karar verildi ve maliyet analizi yapıldı. Bulgular: İki bin hasta istek kağıdında toplam istenen test sayısı 10130, gereksiz laboratuvar isteği 302, bu istek kağıtlarında olan gereksiz test isteği 718 idi. Birinci dönemde ICD 10 koduna ve bilgilerine göre %15.6 laboratuvar isteği ikinci dönemde ise %14.6 laboratuvar isteği gereksiz olarak değerlendirildi. Birinci dönemde gereksiz istenen toplam test sayısı % 0.77 ve ikinci dönemde ise %0.64 olarak bulundu. Sağlık uygulama tebliğine ederlerine göre gereksiz testlerin maliyeti 20 gün için 6068 TL ve tüm yıl için yaklaşık 79000 olarak hesaplandı. Sonuç: Viroloji- seroloji laboratuvarlarının bu maliyeti yüksek gereksiz test isteklerinin sürekli izlenmeleri gereklidir. Gereksiz test isteklerinin önlemesi için klinisyen, laboratuvar ve hastane yönetimi işbirliği ile kontrol mekanizmaları devreye sokulmalıdır.en_US
dc.description.abstractAim: Two thousand consecutive laboratory requests from Virology-Serology Laboratory made within 20 days were evaluated for unnecessary test request and their costs. Materials and Methods: Two thousand consecutive laboratory requests from Virology-Serology Laboratory made within 20 days in two different periods were evaluated for unnecessary requests and tests. Unnecessary requests were determined by examining the clinical setting in which they were requested, ICD-10 codes, physician who made the request and prior viral serology test results in the laboratory. the cost of these unnecessary test request were calculated. Results: From 2000 laboratory requests there were 10,130 tests requested from the laboratory. Unnecessary laboratory requests were 302 and unnecessary test requests were 718 from these 2000 patients. in the first period, 15.6% and in the second period 14.6% laboratory requests were evaluated as an unnecessary request. Unnecessary tests were 0.77% in the first period and 0.64% in the second period. the cost of the unnecessary test requests were calculated to be 6068 TL for 20 days and approximately 79,000 TL for a year. Conclusion: Virology- Serology laboratories should continually monitor these high cost unnecessary test requests. To activate the control mechanisms to avoid these unnecessary test requests, collaboration of clinicians, laboratories and hospital management is necessary.en_US
