dc.description.abstract2000-2001 sezonu öncesi Ege Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Spor Hekimliği Anabilim Dalı'na her yıl periyodik kontrol için müracaat eden 137 futbolcu yüzeyel mantar İnfeksiyonu sıklığı ve subjektif şikayetler açısından değerlendirildi. Bu futbolcuların 38'inde (% 27.7) klinik makroskobik bulgu tespit edildi. Makroskobik bulgusu olan 38 olgunun 17'sinde (çalışma grubunun %12.4'ü) mikolojik kültürde üreme gerçekleşti. Candida albicans 8 (%5.8) olguda, Trichophyton rubrum 7 (%5.9) olguda ve Candida parapsilosis 1(%0.7) olguda üredi, M.Furfur 1 (%0.7) olguda saptandı. Genel populasyonda onikomikozis sıklığı % 2-5 arasında değişirken çalışma grubunu oluşturan futbolcularda bu oran % 9.7 gibi oldukça yüksek bir değere sahipti. Tinea pedis sıklığı ise genel populasyonda % 3-4 arasında değişirken futbolcularda da bu oran % 3 olarak bulundu.en_US
dc.description.abstractBackground and Design: It is believed that sports activity is one of the predisposing factors for superficial infections. We aim to investigate the prevalance of these infections in football players. Material and Methods: 137 football players were determined for superficial fungal infections by clinical examination, direct microscopy and fungal culture. Results: % 27.7 and %12.4 of football players have clinically macroscopic signs and mycologically proven superficial fungal infection consequtively. Conclusion: When we compared our results with given literature for general population, football players had higher rates for onychomycosis and similar rates for Tinea pedisen_US
