Özet
Türkiye’de süt sığırcılığı zaman içinde önemli yapısal değişiklikler ve gelişmeler göstermiştir. Sektör, Cumhuriyetin kuruluşundan bu yana yeterli düzeyde olmasa da, farklı tarım politikası araçları ile desteklenmiştir. Türkiye’nin Avrupa Birliği’ne (AB) uyum sürecinde de süt sektörü öncelikli alanlar arasındadır. Bu nedenle geçmişten günümüze süt sığırcılığı sektöründeki gelişmelerin incelenmesi ve AB açısından değerlendirilmesi önemli görülmektedir. Bu makalenin temel amacı, son 20 yılda, süt sığırcılığı sektöründeki yapısal değişmeleri ortaya koymaktır. Bu kapsamda süt sığırcılığı sektörüne ilişkin çeşitli parametrelerdeki değişmeler incelenmiş ve sektörün mevcut durumu SWOT analiziyle ortaya konmuştur. Çalışmanın sonucunda sektörün geleceğine yönelik önerilere de yer verilmiştir.
The dairy cattle husbandry in Turkey has shown important structural changes and developments in due course. Since the establishment of the Republic, the sector has been supported by various agricultural policy instruments despite not in adequate level. Dairy sector is also situated among priority fields in the European Union (EU) integration process of Turkey. For this reason, it is significantly considered that developments in the dairy cattle sector from past to present should be analyzed as well as evaluated from the perspective of the EU. The main objective of this paper is to put forward the structural changes encountered in the dairy cattle sector during last 20 years. Within this context, changes in the various parameters with regard to dairy cattle sector were introduced. In the light of these evaluations, the current situation of the sector will be stated by means of SWOT analysis. As a result of the study, propositions related to future of the sector also be included.
