Uygulanan soru formundan elde edilen bilgilere göre; tüm çocukların yaş ortalaması 8,90+0,60'tır. Çocukların %50,68'si kız; %49,32'si erkektir, %47,70'i ailede biri^ocuktur. Çocuklarının Aile Kabul-Red Ölçeği toplam puan ortalamalarım etkileyen sosyo-demografik özelliklerin; çocuğun yaşı, cinsiyeti, ailede kaçmcı çocuk olma durumu, annenin eğitimi, ailenin gelir düzeyi, ailenin çocuk sayısı, çocuğa zaman ayırma durumu olduğu saptanmıştır. This research includes 6869 pupils of the third class of the school, which continued their education at the 1997-1998 education year in Karşıyaka. To represent the whole specimen, 369 children were taken with a ratio of 95% in the alpha 0.05 level. This research was made as a discuss technique, a defining and crosscutting field study. To demonstrate the socio-demographic characteristics of the children and their families, a questionnaire which was made by the investigator, was used. Also, to determine the perceived relationship of the children with their mothers, the "Parental Acceptence-Rejection Questionnaire"; which was developed in Connecticut University at 1980 by Rohner, Saavedra and Granum, and its validity and reliability was tested in Boğaziçi University at 1990 by Erdem, was used. According to the findings, which were taken from the questionnaire, the average age of the whole children is found as 8.90±0.60; 50.68% of the children are girls; 47.70% of the specimen are the single child in the family; the average age of the children's mothers is found as 33.43±5.22; 8657.18% of the mothers are graduate from the primary school; the income of 53.39% of the families is less than their expense; 79.95% of the mothers are unemployed; 44.16% of the working mothers are civil servants, 83.74% of the mothers spend time to their children; the average age of their fathers is found as 37.25+6.28; 40.16% of the fathers are graduates from the primary school; 33.93% of the fathers work as tradesmen, craftsmen or farmers. The average score of the Parental Acceptence-Rejection Questionnaire is 97.69±27.00. The socio-demographic characteristics which affect the total average scores of the Parental Acceptence-Rejection Questionnaire are: the age of the child, its sex, birth order of the children in its family, the numbers of children in its family, and the time spent by the parents to their children. In the light of these findings, as mother-child relationship of a child carrying any of those characteristics defined above can develop in a negative direction, the Protector Psychological Health Services were stressed and advices were given. 87
