Segmental dilatation of intestine (SDI) is a rare disorder that leads to functional obstruction without stenosis and normally functioning ganglion cells. The etiology of the disease is unknown. Definitive treatment consists of segmental resection of the dilated segment with end-to-end anastomosis. © 1993, Georg Thieme Verlag KG Stuttgart, New York.
