Komplekslerin Sentezi Sentezlenen Rutenyum komplekslerinin transfer hidrojenasyon reaksiyonunda katalitik aktiviteleri incelendi.
In this project, ruthenium complexes were prepared using different ligands bearing the watersoluble benzoic acid group. Nowadays, the use of catalysts is of great importance as it provides benefits such as reducing or eliminating the use of toxic solvents, increasing the efficiency of product production and using less energy. In the transfer hydrogenation reaction, one of the methods to be used in this study, these are soft methodologies in which hydrogen is transferred between the substrate and a hydrogen donor or acceptor. Moreover, the donor (e.g. 2-propanol) and acceptor (e.g. ketone or quinone) are environmentally friendly and also easy to process. This is one of the most important advantages of this method, along with being environmentally friendly and suitable for green chemistry. Another method, the dehalogenation reaction, serves the purpose of eliminating this effect and protecting the environment, since many halogenated organic compounds show high toxicity. The catalytic activities of the prepared compounds were investigated. A new compound has been introduced to the literature and the outputs of the project are aimed to be published in high impact articles. In addition, this project provides perspectives and updates on water-soluble homogeneous catalysts with innovative mechanisms of action in the tandem reaction. The project consists of three parts. The first chapter covers literature information on the catalytic activities of ruthenium-arene complexes, semi-sandwich ruthenium complexes and semi-sandwich ruthenium-arene complexes. In the second section, experimental studies are explained. In the third chapter, information is given about the synthesis, characterization and catalytic studies of ligand 1 and Ruthenium complexes. The reactions of the synthesized ruthenium complexes were carried out as a result of the reaction of Ru with p-cymene, starting from the relevant ligands containing benzoic acid. The synthesis steps are shown in Scheme 1. The catalytic activities of the synthesized Ruthenium complexes in the transfer hydrogenation reaction were examined.
