dc.description.abstractKıbrıs evcil koyunlarının (Ovis ammem) işkembesinde yaşayan Epidinium çinisine dahil siliyat protozoon içeriği araştırılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda 2 tür [Epidinium ecaudatum, Epidinium graini] ve 8 forma [E. e. f. ecaudatum, E. e. f. caudatum, E. e. f. bicaudatum, E. e. f. tricaudatum, E. e. f. quadricaudatum, E. g. f. graini, E. g. f. caudatricoronatum, E. g. f. caııdaauadricaronatum] tayin edilmiştir. Ayrıca bu çalışma Epidinium graini için koyunların işkembesinde bulunduğuna ilişkin ilk kayıttır. Çalışmada belirlenmiş tür ve formalara ait incelenen örneklerde tesbit edilen taksonomik karakterler, orijinal tanım ve literatürde mevcut tanımlarla karşılaştırılarak benzerlik ve farklılıklar tartışılmıştır. Kıbrıs koyunlarında bulunan Epidinium cinsine dahil işkembe siliyat faunasının, içerdiği tür ve forma çeşitliliği açısından diğer ülkelerdeki koyun faunalarına göre daha zengin olduğu saptanmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe rumen ciliate protozoon belonging to the genus Epidinium from Cypriot domestic sheep (Ovis ammon) was investigated. As the result of our investigation, 2 species [Epidinium ecaudatum and Epidinium graini] including 8 strains [E. e. f. ecaudatum, E. e. f. caudatum, E. e. f. bicaudatum, E. e. f. tricaudatum, E. e. f. oudricaudatum, E. g. f. graini, and E, g. f. caudatricoronatum, and E. g. f. caudaquadricoronatum} were detected. Also, the present study reports the presence of Epidinium graini in the rumen of sheep for the first time. All of the species and strains detected were compared with their original descriptions and previous reports and the similarities and differences were discussed. It was found that the rumen microfauna of the genus Epidinium from Cypriot domestic sheep is richer from the viewpoint of the diversity of species and strains than that of sheep in other countries.en_US
