İnsanı anlamak, onun eylemlerinin üzerinde odaklaşmakla mümkündür. İnsan eylemlerinin neden ve sonuçlarını araştırmayı kendine konu edinen disiplin alanları ise kendilerine özgü perspektifler ile bu insani etkinlikleri araştırmayı hedeflerler. Disiplin alanlarını farklı kılan, insan eylemlerinin sınıflandırılma niteliğidir. Sosyoloji açısından farklılık ise, insan topluluğuna ‘sosyolojik bir bakış’ ile bakmaktır. Sosyoloji kendini öğreterek ayakta tutar. Sosyolojinin örgütsel temeli de akademik bölümler olmuştur. Bir kurum olarak üniversite, daima uygarlığın temel görünümlerini yansıtmıştır. Önemli temel niteliklerinden biri de, akademisyen ve öğrenci arasındaki spesifik bilimsel ve insan ilişkileridir. Bu noktada öğretme, sosyolojinin etkisini genişleten yaşamsal bir araçtır.

Those academic disciplines that concentrate on researching the reasons and results of human actions aim to contribute to the literature on these human activities with their own unique perspectives. What makes these disciplines different from to another is the method by which human actions can be classified. The difference for sociology is the ‘sociological Perspective’’ in which it views humans. Sociology supports itself by teaching. For this reason the organizational basis for the sociology has been, the academic departments. The university as an institution has always reflected the main features of civilization. One of its characteristics is the special scientific and human relation between the academician and the student. At this point, teaching is a vital means to expand sociology’s influence.
