Dr. Nur Zincir HEYWOOD Nisan 2000, 107 sayfa Bu tezde akademik, ticari ve askeri kuruluşların tümünde gittikçe daha hızlı büyüyen yerel ve geniş alan bilgisayar ağlarının yönetimi konusu incelenerek, ağ yönetiminin dinamik ve statik bileşenleri araştırılmıştır. Ağ yönetimi görevlerinin Konfigürasyon, Hata, Güvenlik, Muhasebe ve Performans gibi beş temel fonksiyonel bileşeni incelenmiştir. Bu incelemelerden sonra, bilgisayar ağı yönetimi konusunda, ağ yöneticileri tarafından örnek olarak kullanılabilecek bir yönetim modeli ana hatlarıyla açıklanmıştır. Ağ yönetimi ile ilgili genel hususlardan sonra, günümüzde kullanılan "SNMP", "CMIP" ve "RMON" gibi yönetim protokolları sırayla araştırılmıştır. Günümüzde endüstride kullanılan ağ yönetim ürünlerinin nasıl olması gerektiği konusunda bilgiler verilmiş ve kullanılan araçlardan bazıları tanıtılmıştır. Dr. Nur Zincir HEYWOOD April 2000, 107 pages The aim of this thesis is to research the dynamic and static constituents of network management by studying the management of local and wide area networks which gain an increasing importance in all academic, industrial and military organizations. The five basic functional areas of network management tasks such as configuration, fault, security, accounting and performance have been examined. Following the aforementioned studies, a management model which could be used as a sample by the network managers has been outlined. Following the common principles of network management, management protocols currently used such as "SNMP", "CMIP" and "RMON" have been researched respectively in terms of their pros and cons. Thereafter, Information has been provided on how the network management tools should be, together with a few examples of such tools currently used.
