Rahim içi araç kullanan kadınlarda servikal aktinomikoz

Aktinomikoz, yaygın fibrozis ve multipl apselerle seyreden kronik süpüratif bir hastalıktır. Bu makalede, rahim içi araç (RİA) kullanımı ile ilişkili üç servikal aktinomikoz olgusu sunuldu. Tüm olgularda histolojik olarak akut yangı yanısıra Actinomycetes kolonileri izlendi. Ek olarak, iki olguda (Olgu 1 ve 3) RİA 'ya bağlı kronik endometrit gözlendi. Olgularda ortalama RİA kullanım süresi 4.3 yıl olarak saptandı. Bu nedenle özellikle uzun süreli RİA kullanan kişiler rutin servikal smear ile izlenmelidir.

Actinomycosis is a chronic, suppurative disease characterised by extensive fibrosis and multiple abscesses. In this article, three cases of intrauterine device (IUD) associated cervical actinomycosis are presented. Histologically, all cases showed acute inflammation of the endocervix and the colonies of Actinomycetes. In two patients (Cases 1 and 3), additionally, there were endometritis associated with intrauterine contraceptive device. Special attention shoud be paid to patients with a long history of IUD use, and routine cervical smears should be examined for the presence of actinomycosis.
