In this study we investigated the induction of resistance agaınst powdery mildew in wheat by treatment of ozone in different doses and also we examined the changes caused by ozone on plant physiology and biochemistry. For that purpose ozone gase was treated in 1 mg, 3 mg, 5 mg doses to the wheat which is in 3 leaf stage and which is susceptible (Pamukova-97) and tolerant (Tahirova 2000) to powdery mildew. After the treatment; stoma conductance, hydrogen peroxide, antioxidant enzyme metabolism were examined in every 24 hours. 3rd day after the ozone treatment conidia were inoculated and the disease severity was evaluated after the 15 days. As a result it was observed that treatment of 3 mg and 5 mg doses decrases the disease severity in each wheat genotype in the 15th day following the inoculation. But it was observed that the effects of ozone disappered and the disease severity was increased in the 25th day following the inoculation. And also it was determined that the ozone promotes hydrogen peroxide production and consequently different antioxidant enzymes (POX, CAT, APX, GR, SOD) shows activity in varying proportions.
