| dc.description.abstract | Avustralya kökenli okaliptüs ağacı Osmanlı devletine XIX. yüzyılın son yarısında girdi. Okaliptüs ağacının Osmanlı coğrafyasına girdiği kesin tarih bilinmemektedir fakat tarihi verilere göre söz konusu ağaç Yemen bölgesinde 1880 yılında görülmektedir. Osmanlılardaki okaliptüs ağaçlarının dikilme hikâyesi onların sosyal ve ekonomik yararlarıyla yakından ilgilidir. Bu ağaçlar ormanlaştırma, süs bitkisi (yol kenarlarına dikilmesi gibi), bataklıkları kurutmak, toplum sağlığıyla ilgili olarak sıtmayla mücadele gibi nedenlerle dikilmiş ve ayrıca halk hekimliğinde ve diğer endüstri alanlarında kullanılmıştır. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | The eucalyptus tree which is Australian origin was introduced into the Ottoman State in the last half of XIX. century. The precise date of entry of eucalyptus tree into the Ottoman geography is unknown but according to historical data, eucalyptus tree was first observed in 1880 in Yemen district. The story of the cultivation of the eucalyptus trees in the Ottomans was related to their economic and social benefits. These trees were cultivated for afforestation, ornament (for example wayside trees), the drying of swaps, struggle against the malaria with regard to protect public health and also they were used folk medicine and other industry fields. | en_US |
