Özet
Sürdürülebilir tarım toprak, su ve hava gibi çevresel faktörleri dikkate alıp, insan, bitki ve hayvan sağlığını koruyarak üretim yapma düşüncesi olarak tanımlanabilir. Sürdürülebilir tarım, toprak verimliliğini artırma ve toprağı koruma ile yakından ilgilidir. Sürdürülebilir tarım, ekolojik dengenin sürdürülmesini ve doğal dengenin mümkün olduğu kadar korunmasını hedef alarak tasarlanmıştır. Toprağın korunması İlk ortaya atıldığından bu yana, koruyucu toprak işleme ile birlikte düşünülmelidir. Sürdürülebilir tarımda toprak işlemenin azaltılması gerekliliği yabancı ot sorununu da beraberinde getirmiştir. Bu nedenle koruyucu toprak işleme düşüncesi içinde tutarlı ve güvenilir yabancı ot yönetimi önemlidir. Günümüzde, birçok işletmede yabancı ot kontrolü için ilk düşünülen, toprak işleme ile yabancı otun toprak altına gömülerek öldürülmesidir. Ancak aşırı toprak işlemenin yarattığı olumsuzlukları gözden kaçırmamak gerekir. Bilindiği gibi aşırı toprak işleme toprak strüktürünü büyük ölçüde tahrip etmekte, organik madde miktarını azaltmakta ve genel olarak üretimin sürdürülebilirliğini tehlikeye sokmaktadır. Bu nedenle, sürdürülebilir tarımda koruyucu toprak işleme sistemlerinin devreye sokulması, bitki nöbetinin uygulanması ve örtü bitkisi kullanılması olası sorunların çözümüne büyük ölçüde yardımcı olacaktır. Sustainable farming can be described as a production method which considers environmental factors such as air and water by conserving human, plant and animal health. Sustainable farming involves closely with increasing productivity of the soil and conserving the soil nature. Sustainable farming has been developed by targeting on sustaining ecological balance and conserving as much as possible nature balance. For this reason, it is planned from the beginning of its first application to today with soil conservation practices. the necessity of reducing soil tillage in organic farming brings along weed problems. Good and reliable weed management in sustainable farming, for this reason, is very important. the first solutions comes to mind for many sustainable farming produces for weed control are soil tillage and killing the weeds by incorporating the weeds with soil. But, it should be noted that intensive tillage creates quite negative effects on soil. It is very well known fact that intensive tillage destroys soil structure, decreases soil organic carbon and reduces sustainability of farm production. For this reason, conservation tillage methods should be put into use, plant rotation should be applied and cover crop practices should be used for solving the problems in sustainable farming.
