ABSTRAKT YENİ VE TEMİZ BİR YAKIT ÇEVRİMİ TOLUEN' İN METİLSİKLOHEGZAN' A HİDROJENAS YONU ERSÖZ, Atilla Kimya Mühendisliği Doktora Tez Çalışması Danışman : Prof.Dr. Özden OLGUN Temmuz 1998, 126 Sayfa Toluen'in gaz fazında hidrojenasyonu endüstriyel ( ticari ) Nİ/Sİ02/A1203 katalizörü üzerinde incelenmiştir. Bileşimi 50 w % Ni, 24 w% Sİ02 and llw% A1203 olan katalizörün ( G-134 ARS, Süd-Chemie AG, Münih ) denemeler için en uygun olduğu bulunmuştur. Denemeler için pyrex cam sabit yataklı katalitik reaktör kullanılmıştır. İntrinsink reaksiyon hızı hidrojen ve toluen reaktanlannın kısmi basınçlarına bağımlı bulunmuştur. IV ABSTRACT A NEW AND CLEAN FUEL CYCLE HYDROGENATION OF TOLUENE TO METHYLCYCLOHEXANE ERSÖZ,Atilla Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering Supervisor : Prof.Dr.Özden OLGUN July 1998, 126 pages The hydrogenation of toluene in gas phase was investigated on industrial ( commercial ) Nİ/SİO2/AI2O3 catalyst The catalyst (G-134 ARS, Süd-Chemie AG, München ) having the composition of 50 w % Ni, 24 w % SİO2 and 1 1 w % AI2O3 was found to be most appropriate for the experiments. Laboratory scale pyrex-glass fixed bed catalytic reactor was used for the experiments. The intrinsic reaction rate expression was found dependent on the partial pressure of hydrogen and toluene. The reaction was carried out at about atmospheric pressure and at temperatures between 140-200 °C. Key words Methylcyclohexane, toluene, catalytic hydrogenation, alternative transportation fuels.
