Özet
Bu tezde Henry Danby Seymour'un 1844 ve 1846 yıllarında Kırım'a ve Güney Rusya'ya yapmış olduğu seyahatlerde gördüklerini ve incelemelerini anlatmış olduğu Russian on the Black Sea and Sea of Azov seyahatnamesi Türkçe'ye çevrilmiştir. Tezde kitabın Türkçe metniyle beraber kitapta anlatılan Kırım ve Rusya'nın bulunduğu Kuzey Karadeniz coğrafyasının tarihinin incelenmesi, 19. Yüzyıla gelinceye kadar bu coğrafyada yaşanan gelişmeleri ayrıntılı olarak ele almak amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla tezde Kırım tarihi ve coğrafyası incelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak hem Karadeniz'in kuzeyine yönelik olarak kapsamlı bir çalışmanın hem de Kırım araştırmalarında bir kaynak olarak kullanılabilecek olan bu seyahatnamenin Türkçesinin literatüre kazandırılmış olmasının önemli bir katkı olacağı değerlendirilmektedir
In this thesis, the travel book of Henry Danby Seymour, Russian on the Black Sea and Sea of Azov, in which he described what he saw and explored during his travels to Crimea and Southern Russia in 1844 and 1846, was translated into Turkish. In the thesis, it is aimed to examine the history of the Northern Black Sea region, where Crimea and Russia are located, together with the Turkish text of the book, and to discuss the developments in this geography in detail until the 19th century. For this purpose, the history and geography of Crimea has been examined in this thesis. As a result, it is considered that it will be an important contribution to bring the Turkish version of this travel book, which can be used as a source for both a comprehensive study on the north of the Black Sea and the Crimea researches, to the literature.
