dc.description.abstractKüreselleşme kavramı son zamanlarda akademik, sosyal, kültürel, ekonomik, siyasal pek çok alanda hatta günlük olayların yorumunda bile sıklıkla anılan bir kavram haline gelmiştir. Bunun nedeni küreselleşmenin etkilerinin postmodern dönemde çok çeşitli alanlarda çok çeşitli sonuçlara neden olmuş olmasıdır. Terör konusu da küreselleşme sürecinde hem teknoloji ve enformasyon imkanları aracılığı ile hızla ilerlemiş ve gelişmiş, hem de küreselleşmenin ekonomik, politik, kültürel alanlardaki etkilerine duyulan tepkilerle bilenmiştir.11 Eylül Saldırıları ile Terör bir evrim geçirmiştir. Bu saldırılar Huntington'ın Medeniyetler Çatışması Tezi üzerinden tartışılmış ve Küresel Terör kavramı ortaya atılmıştır. Küresel Terör Kavamı ise Medeniyetler Çatışması bağlamında İslami Terör ile ilintili ve hatta çoğu zaman özdeş olarak tanımlanmaktadır.Terör doğası gereği sesini mümkün olduğunca geniş bir kitleye duyurmaya çalışmaktadır. Dolayısıyla kitle iletişim araçlarına ulaşmak terör için büyük önem kazanmıştır.Öte yandan terör konusu medyada ne kadar çok yer alırsa, terörün geniş kitlelere korku salma amacını gerçekleştirmesine o kadar çok yardımcı olmaktadır. Nasıl ki kitle iletişim araçlarından yayılan ileti korkunun yayılmasına hizmet ediyorsa, aynı şekilde, terörün bireylerin gündemine girmesine da katkı sağlamaktadır.Kitle İletişim araçlarının terörün bireylerin gündemine girmesindeki etkisinin gündem koyma ve saptama yaklaşımı ile açıklanabileceği gibi bireylerde terör üzerine oluşacak gündemin ne yönde olacağı da çerçeveleme yaklaşımı ile açıklanabilir.Bu çalışmada bu önermeden yola çıkılarak gündem koyma ve saptama yaklaşımı ile çerçeveleme yaklaşımı bağlamında terör olayları ile ilgili haberlerinin çerçeveleri incelenmiş ve yaratılan Küresel Terör algısı incelenmiştir. Örnek olay olarak 26 Kasım 2008 tarihinde gerçekleşen Mumbai Saldırıları alınmıştır. New York Times, Hürriyet ve Milliyet gazetelerinde Mumbai Saldırırları ile ilgili haberler üzerinden çerçeveleme analizi yapılmış ve Mumbai saldırıları bağlamında Küresel Terör incelenmiştir.ANAHTAR KELİMELER: Küreselleşme, Terör, Terörizm, Küresel Terör, İslami Terör, Gündem Koyma ve Saptama, Çerçeveleme, Mumbai Saldırılarıen_US
dc.description.abstractLately, Globalization has become a frequently mentioned concept academically, socially, economically, politically and even in describing the daily life situations. The reason for this is that the effects of globalization has various consequences in various fields in the postmodern era. The terror issue has improved, expanded as well as sharpened with the reaction to the effects of globalization in the economic, politic, cultural areas.With the 9/11 attacks, terror had an evolution. These attacks have been discussed with reference to the Clash of the Civilizations of Huntington and a concept of global terrorism was introduced. This concept of global terroroism was linked to - and even seen most of the time equivalent to - the İslamic Terror in regard to the Clash of the Civilizations.Being heard by as many people as possible is in terror's nature. So reaching the mass media has gained great importance for the terrorists.On the other hand, the more terror issue is covered by the mass media the more the goals of the terrorist is met. As the message that comes out of the mass media helps spread the fear, it also contributes to put the terror issue on public agenda.As the effect of the mass media to put the terror issue on public agenda can be explained by agenda setting and agenda building approach, the aspect of this agenda can be explained by the framing approach.With the above proposal, this study analyses the framing of the news that covered the terror issue in regard to the agenda setting and agenda building approach and examines the Global Terror perception built. The Mumbai attacks that took place on November, 26, 2008 is considered as the example. The framing analysis is conducted on the news that appeared on New York Times, Hürriyet and Milliyet newspapers about Mumbai attacks and Global Terrorism is studied in regard to the Mumbai attacks.KEY WORDS: Globalization, Terror, Terrorism, Global Terror, Islamic Terror, Agenda Seeting, Framing, Mumbai Attacksen_US
