Özet

SUMMARY The clothing Industry is the most Important industry branch in Turkey. This branch has great contributions in providing foreign currencies and in employment of people with a smaller investment In order to conribute such an important industry sector this research has been done by taking the clothing exporters as a base. In this research the evaluation of the data was achieved by applying linear programming technique. The aim of this work is to introduce the modern programming technique to the clothing companies and to give them a contribution in their world-wide competition. In this work 10 different outer wear, type were used, which are; 1. Zermatt Overall 2. Zinka Overall 3. Canda Parka 1 4. Canda Parka 2 5. R. Mutter Parka 6. Okteks Jacket 7. W. Nanini Trausers 8. Indiana Blue-jean 9. Quelle Short 10. Fox Skirt The parameters for these clothings are listed below. 1. Cutting dept 2. Grouping and pairing 3. Sewing dept. 4. Button hole 5. Button 6. Clearing and quality control 7. Ironing and packing 8. Lockstitch sewing machines 9. The machines with cutter 10. The machines with computer 1 1. The machine with double needle 12. Overlook machine (5 threads) 13. Overlook machine (3 threads) 14. Overlook machine (2 threads) 15. Bridge machine 16. Waterproof fabric 17. Denim fabric. 113The first 7 items cover the departments, 8-15 items cover the machines used In sewing room, 16-17 items cover the fabric parameters which can not be supplied more within 3 months period. In order to maximize the profit level the linear programming technique has been applied by using the above mentioned informations belonging to those ten type of clothings which were planned to produce. This has been applied with and without order limit. Solution was obtained by using the linear programming module of QS software. As a result it has been found that, in the case of limited order, 1-9 types were selected for production, but not number 10 and the annual profit level was 4.439.140.000 TL. after extracting constant expenses. It has also been observed the number of parameters were too excessive with respect to capacity, only one of them was fully utilized and there was an important over capacity. According to the results obtained from limitless production programming, it has been concluded that the profit maximization could be achieved in the case of production of number 5-7 and annual profit would 33.707.980.000 TL. after extracting constant expenses. The capacities of parameters were again excessive. But if the profit levels are compared, the production without order limit makes it possible to obtain 7.6 times higher profit than that of the production with order, limit After these analysis, it can be concluded that there is an idle capacity at the company and this idle capacity has to be utilized or the capacity level must be decreased if it is not possible to run with full capacity. Another important point is that, order quantity and marketing power have an important role on profitibility. If marketing can be improved and big orders can be taken then the idle capacities can be utilized and there by profit level can be increased. 114
