Özet
Objective: Cancer is known as one of the main cause of death worldwide. It is difficult to discover novel agents that selectively kill tumor cells or inhibit their proliferation without general toxicity. Searching for more active, more selective and less toxic compounds are the main targets of cancer researches. Artemisia annua L. has been used for a long time as a medicinal plant in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Artemisinin, which is one of the active compounds of this plant. It has antiviral, antiinflammatory, antiparasitic, antiallergic, antifibrotic, antiarrhythmic, immunmodulator, antitumorigenic, cytotoxic properties. The aim of this study is to review the A. annua compounds and search for their effects against various cancer cell lines. © 2018 University of Ankara. All rights reserved.
