Özet
Objective: The purpose of this study to make validity and reliability of Turkish language version of Childbirth Attitudes Questionnaire (CAQ). Material and Methods: This study performed in Ege University Hospital with 160 primiparous pregnant women, in their 28 to 40th weeks, selected by simple random method between 01.05-01.08.2012. Individual Data Collection Form and CAQ were used and in validity of scale, language and content validiy is performed. For counseling of the experts Content Validity Index was used. In data analyzing; Gutmann, Split-Half and Spearman-Brown, Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient (PMCC) were used. Results: Kendall's W of CAQ was determined as 0.26 and statistically significant (x1: 32.020±15, p<0.005). CAQ's two half coleration coefficient 0.69, Gutmann Split-Half 0.81, equal two half Spearman-Brown 0.82, cronbach's alpha values of first half of the scale consists of first eight items and second half of the scale consists of last eight items as 0.82 and 0.63 were calculated respectively. The Cronbach Alpha coefficient reliability of CAQ was determined as 0.82 and PMCC were calculated as 0.96 for the scale items. By this way, one by one, consistency of all the items with whole scale was found. To determine test-retest reliability and Pearson's correlation analysis were performed between the CAQ mean scores of first and the second application. Correlation coefficient was found as 0.96 and statistically significant between first and second application (r=0.96, p<0.001). Conclusion: CAQ is found valid and reliable for primipara, between 28 to 40th gestational week women and non-high-risk pregnancies in Turkish society. Through this study, health care providers will be able to identify childbirth attitudes of pregnant women before the birth and could change their attitudes towards birth and make them able to cope with their fears.
