Sustainable computing: Concepts and issues

The concept Sustainable Development is an important point of consideration, integrating economic, social and environmental issues. The integration of information and communication technologies into every aspect of our lives shifted its scope to computing, as well. Today, computer and other electrical and electronics equipment production generate a significant part of all productions in the world. Consequently, energy consumed by use of computers and electrical and electronics equipments and waste generated as a result of obsolete computing equipments are enormous in quantity. As a major source of many applications, taking attention to all stages of computers, equipments and systems from raw material extraction to recycling and disposal can generate not complete, but a significant piece of picture.
