Özet

In this study, the essential oil of Myrtus communis was used as a bactericide in the soaking process. 1% myrtle oil was applied in comparison with a commercial bactericide which is commonly used in the leather industry (typically containing 7-25% phenol, 4-chloro-3-methyl). The trials showed that Myrtus communis oil has an antibacterial effect in soaking and would be suitable for use in industry.
