dc.description.abstract | Novel artificial zinc chlorin dyes comprising amine anchoring groups zinc aminochlorin (ZnChl-NH2), zinc monomethylaminochlorin (ZnChl-NHMe) and zinc dimethylaminochlorin (ZnChl-NMe2) are synthesized and their photovoltaic performances are evaluated in dye-sensitized solar cells. To the best of our knowledge, -NH2 functionalized Zn chlorin dyes are tested in dye-sensitized solar cells for the first time. Best efficiency is obtained with ZnChl-NHMe sensitizer with a 2.67 mA/cm(2) short circuit photocurrent density, 414 mV of open circuit voltage, 0.64 of filling factor, and 0.68 of overall light to power conversion efficiency.
