dc.description.abstractIn this study, the effects of different priority assignment policies to multimedia tasks in general purpose operating systems are examined. Three priority assignment principles have been simulated and their preeemption performances have been quantified. The simulation results of the three disciplines have been discussed in terms of preemption costs and stability.en_US
