dc.description.abstract | In this study, it was aimed to contribute to solve the taxonomic problems of genus Marrubium by examining the anatomy of stem and leaf in taxa of Marrubium trachyticum and Marrubium globosum subsp. micranthum belonging to the genus. the samples of stem and leaf were embedded in Epoxy resin. After semithin cross sections were stained by Toluidine blue, they were examined by Light Microscopy and photographed. on the other hand, ultrathin cross sections were stained by Uranyl acetate and Lead citrate. They were examined by Transmission Electron Microscopy and micrographed. in both taxa, the stems were quadrangular. They were surrounded by one layered epidermis having a thick cuticle layer. There were 2- 3 layered lamellar collenchyma under epidermis in the corners of stem. Leaves were bifacial in both taxa. Mesophyll tissue differentiated in the form of palisade and sponge parenchyma. Small bundles were collateral, and leaf were amphistomatic. Bio-metric measurements were performed in some tissues. There were glandular and non- glandular hairs on stems and on the upper and lower surfaces of leaves. Prismatic crystals were also observed in stem and leaf in taxa. When the anatomical results were compared it was figured out that these two taxa were close to each other. the study will pave the way for other studies on ecological plants, taxonomy or pharmaceutic botanic in the World. | en_US |
