Özet
Aim: In our study, effect of preoperative administration of analgesic and antiemetic combination on quality of anesthesia in the patients who were scheduled for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy was investigated in prospective, randomized and double-blinded design. Material and Methods: Twenty patients in group I received ondansetron 8 mg and lornoxicam 8 mg while 20 patients in group II did not. Both groups were compared in terms of operative and anesthesia related variables as hemodynamics, drug consumptions, recovery features, postoperative nausea and vomiting, pain level of patients and rescue antiemetic and analgesic drug requirements on the first 24 hour after surgery. Results: Hemodynamic course, consumption of anesthetics, levels of postoperative pain relief was similar between groups. The mean first analgesic requirement time was longer in group I (p<0,05) and requirement of antiemetic medication on the 60 and 90 minutes of postoperative period were less in group I (p<0,05) when compared with group II. Conclusion: Administration of ondansetron and lornoxicam combination preoperatively docs not significantly affect anesthetic consumption, hemodynamic parameters, recovery features and postoperative pain relief. Prolongation of the first analgesic requirement time and decrease in the frequency of nausea and vomiting in the group received the study drugs was found to be clinically beneficial. However, we think that studies including more patients, trying different drug combinations should be done to obtain best clinical effect.
