As Internet usage increases day by day, efficient use of the infrastructure deployed by Internet service providers has gained great importance. Traffic engineering applications, which aim to distribute traffic evenly to all lines in the network without leaving high bandwidth lines idle and to carry more traffic demand over the same infrastructure, are critical in this regard. Improvements in traffic engineering have been proposed through Segment Routing, which is a resource routing method suggested by the IETF. In the studies conducted in the literature by considering the Segment Routing method, different traffic engineering parameters are evaluated and the best method is tried to be found according to these parameters. Among these methods, an attempt is made to provide fast results, which is another aim of traffic engineering, by reducing the middle point candidate space. In this study, different methods in the literature are carried out in a test environment, comparisons are made with real topology data obtained from Topology Zoo, and the remaining issues are identified by analyzing the results. © 2024 IEEE.en_US
