dc.description.abstractPharyngoeosophageal diverticula are the most common type of diverticula of the eosophagus and are often encountered in the elderly. Parathyroid adenomas are the most common cause of primary hyperparathyroidism. In this case report, we present the case of a 73 year old female patient who was admitted to the endocrinology outpatient clinic in our hospital, complaining of profuse weight gain. The patient was later operated on due to the discovery of a multinodular goitre. Incidentally, the patient appeared to have a synchronous parathyroid adenoma and Zenker diverticulum, both of which were diagnosed intraoperatively. A total thyroidectomy along with excision of the adenoma and stapler-assisted diverticulectomy was performed. The patient did well during her postoperative course. To our knowledge, this is the first report in the literature of a patient that was operated on due to a multinodular goitre with synchronous parathyroid adenoma and Zenker diverticulum.en_US
