dc.description.abstractNowadays, compression of binary image is vital due to enormous amount of images that are being processed and stored in a wide range of applications such as text, maps, fingerprint etc. In this study, we proposed a new method for lossless compression of binary images. The general principle of image compression algorithms is transforming binary digits into a new one that specifies the same information but with fewer digits. We compared our proposed method with Run-Length method which is one of lossless compression methods for binary images, and the compression results shown that our method is successful in lossless compression binary images. © 2017 IEEE.en_US
