Özet
In this study, it was aimed to determine the effects of beneficial bacteria treatments on fruit characteristics, yield and shoot length of Chandler walnut variety in Saruhanli district of Manisa province. For this purpose, preparations containing single (Bacillus subtilis) and combined (Pantoea agglomerans, Paenibacillus polymyxa, Bacillus megaterium, Pseudomonas fluorescens) bacteria were sprayed to the trees in two different dates. Accordingly, it was found out that bacterial treatments were more effective than the control group in terms of nut and kernel weight, shell thickness, shrinkage ratio, shoot length and yield. In the single treatment containing Bacillus subtilis, shell thickness was thinner (1.57 mm) and shoot length was longer (22.37 cm) compared to the other treatments. On the other hand, the combined treatment ranked the first row in relation to nut (11.83 g) and kernel (5.54 g) weight and shrinkage ratio (10.83%). In addition, the highest yield per tree with 30.67 kg was obtained from this treatment. In conclusion, it is recommended to encourage and expand the use of beneficial microorganisms used as biological fertilizers in walnut cultivation because they have positive effects on many characteristics of horticultural crops through their direct and indirect effects.
