Özet
This research has been conducted to compare the effects of hydrocolloid wound dressing and classic wound dressing for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers. People, who have 2nd and 3th degree of diabetic foot ulcer (according to Wagner Classified) because of Type I and II Diyabetes Mellitus, were randomly assigned as the research subjects. The study population of 60 patients was divided into two groups; the first group of 30 was an experimental group to whom Hydrocolloid wound dressing had been applied, the second group of 30 served as the control group to whom classic wound dressing had been applied. The experimental group of patients had the Hydrocolloid wound dressing applied as combined with paste when the wound has cavity, and with powder when the wound is infected as daily usage throughout 30 days. The results demonstrate that the wound healing in the experimental group was much better and faster so than the control group after the 30th day of dressing. The difference was found statistically significant between these two groups (p<0.05).
