At four signalized intersections in Izmir, Turkey 342 questionnaire surveys were conducted. Data of 208 pedestrians were evaluated since the other participants could not be matched with the images. The main focus is on crossing during the red light. The average crossing speed and delays at sidewalks and at median were computed as well. During observations 65 of the red light violators accepted to participate the survey. Although they crossed during red light, 64 of them (98.5%) reported that crossing during red light is not safe. This shows a contradiction between pedestrian behavior and their statements.
