dc.description.abstract | In this study, paste add-on and penetration values of low and high viscosity alginate thickeners were compared. Different concentrations of high and low viscosity dye-colored alginate thickeners were prepared and applied to the fabric at four different temperatures. Viscosity and fluidity were observed to not have much significance on the paste add-on values of the different thickener concentrations used. However, penetration was affected by the viscosity and fluidity. Dye molecular weight was found to be important for penetration in accordance with the rheological properties of the thickener, but not important for the paste add-on value. As predicted, viscosity and fluidity values of thickeners decreased as the temperature increased. However, this decline did not cause significant differences in the paste add-on and penetration values. | en_US |
