dc.description.abstractIn this study, general characteristics and technical features of the gear used in the commercial fishery of bivalve molluscs are evaluated in the coastal areas West Black Sea, Marmara Sea and Aegean Sea of Turkey. Bivalve fisheries are assessed in three main sections by dive fishing, man power coast fishing and boat power fishing, and 8 types are determined fishing gear and methods. A total of 57 various types gears of which eight wedges, five hand rake, eight hand shovel, thirteen hand dredges, three oyster's dredges, four mussel's dredges, nine mechanical dredges and seven hydraulic dredges were identified in the research areas.en_US
