Öğe Analysis of expressed genes in normal and tumoral mammary gland tissue of the terrier dog [Terrier köpeklerinin normal ve tümörlü meme bezi dokusunda eksprese edilen genlerin birincil analizi](Veteriner Fakultesi Dergisi, 2018) Ozdemir Ozgenturk N.; Omeroglu Ulu Z.; Ulu S.; Celik M.; Tellioglu B.; Yildirim F.; Akis Akad I.; Gurel A.; Un C.; Oztabak K.O.Mammary gland tumor is the most common type of tumor in female dogs. Data on genes that are involved in tumorigenesis and mechanism of tumor development are insufficient. Comparative studies have been conducted in order to see if tumorigenesis studies in the dog could be a model for human mammary gland tumors. In this study, we constructed two different cDNA libraries from mammary tissue, which were collected from a normal mammary tissue of a healthy Terrier dog and a tumoral mammary tissue of a sick dog. A total 2304 colonies which are randomly picked out from the two libraries were sequenced for developing a dog mammary gland ESTs collection. Raw EST data were analyzed with Phred/Phrap programs and readable EST sequences were assembled with the CAP3 program. All of EST sequences were grouped into 45 contig and 2203 singletons. Putative functions of all unique sequences were designated by NCBI BLAST based on gene homology and annotated by BLAST2GO. The results of this study are a very valuable resource for functional genome studies of the dogs. © 2018, Veteriner Fakultesi Dergisi. Wearing does not only affect the comfort of man but also his performance and effectiveness, too. Each material forming clothing is an important factor affecting the comfort. Lining fabrics as one of the functional part of the clothing are the first surfaces contacting with the human body. Under the heavy and rapid living conditions of our century, lining fabrics become very important for the clothing with comfort and coziness are dominant over elegance and panache in textile sector. Lining fabrics exposed to friction and tension with body movement has great importance in terms of comfort. In this study the fabrics used widely for special occasions are investigated. Physical and comfort properties of lining fabrics were evaluated with various tests. In conclusion the most suitable lining fabric and its properties were determined.Öğe Primary ovarian leiomyoma: A case report(Elsevier Ltd, 2014) Taskin M.I.; Ozturk E.; Yildirim F.; Ozdemir N.; Inceboz U.Introduction: Primary ovarian leiomyoma is a rare benign tumour of the ovary seen in women between 20 and 65 years old. It is usually diagnosed incidentally during pelvic examination or pathologic examination after surgery.Presentation Of Case: We describe a case of unilateral, ovarian leiomyoma. Transvaginal ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a right adnexial mass. Unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy was performed, and histological examination revealed a leiomyoma arising primarily in the ovary. The diagnosis was confirmed immunohistochemically.Discussion: The tumour may be asymptomatic or may manifest with lower abdominal pain like in our case. The definitive diagnosis of these lesions is difficult prior to surgical removal. Because there is no pathognomonic symptoms or characteristic imaging findings. The correct diagnosis of an ovarian leiomyoma requires identification of the smooth muscle nature of the tumour. Conclusion: This rare tumour of the ovary should be considered in the differential diagnosis of solid ovarian masses. An immunohistochemical analysis is recommended for definitive diagnosis. © 2014 The Authors.
