Öğe Examination of the effects of various orthodontic appliances on periodontal tissues [Ceşitli ortodontik aparey taşiyan bireylerin periodontal dokularinin incelenmesi.](1990) Tuncer A.V.; Baylas H.This study has been planned to examine the effects of various orthodontic appliances on periodontal tissues and the effect of motivation from the point of oral hygiene during the usage period of these appliances. 45 individuals; 15 of them using removable appliances, 15 of them using fixed-DBS appliances and 15 of the patients treating with fixed-multiband technics, have been used. In the beginning; the pocket depths, gingival and plaque indices of all cases have been reported and then they were motivated for their oral hygiene. The measurements were repeated for each of the motivated cases after 1 month. Statistically significant difference was found only in pocket depth between the 3 groups. There were statistically significant differences in pocket depth, gingival and plaque indices values in each of the groups before and after motivation.Öğe Infraclusion of primary molars: A review and report of a case(2002) Ertugrul F.; Tuncer A.V.; Sezer B.The term infraclusion is usually used to define mandibular primary teeth in posterior region that remain below the occlusion level. The degree of infraclusion depends on some factors like deviation below the occlusal plane, and infraclusion of tooth in the alveolar bone. Deficient eruptive force, disturbed metabolism of the periodontal ligament, trauma, local inflamation, deficient local vertical bone growth, disturbance in interaction between normal resorption and hard tissue repair, ankylosis and hereditary components have been given as etiological factors. Complications of infraclused primary molars are tipping of the neighboring teeth, space loss, supraeruption of the antagonists, and dislocations of permanent teeth lying under the primary tooth. In this case report, after reviewing the literature, a patient with infraclused mandibular primary second molar has been examined to observe the complications of infraclusion. With an appropriate treatment approach, a proper condition was prepared for the eruption of permanent teeth.Öğe The treatment of cross-bites in the Angle Class I cases with modular 3 D lingual appliances [Angle sinif I anomalisi gösteren bireylerde çapraz kapanişin modüler 3 D lingual apareyler ile tedavisi.](1990) Tuncer A.V.; Ertürk N.Anterior cross-bites which involve one tooth or a group of teeth is commonly seen in every age groups. Removable or fixed appliances are used in the treatment of these cases. Both of these appliances have some advantages and disadvantages. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Modular 3 D Adapter in the treatment of the anterior cross-bites. All of the 14 patients aged between 10 years 1 month and 24 years 2 months showed Angle Class I anterior Cross-bite malocclusion. Only the first molar tooth or teeth were banded, then 0.025 inch Adapter appliance was used Lingually. By applying a force between 60-70 grams, the normal occlusions were gained after 2 months.
