The quality of radiographic testing depends on the various factors such as the ability of radiation source, characteristics of materials and radiographic image. Inspection of defects on radiographic film is one of the important stages in radiographic testing. This study introduces an effective image processing tool (ImageProcess for Radiographic Testing - IPRAD) for industrial radiographic images. Using the software developed, by means of various digital filtering techniques (Histogram, Convolution, Median, Smoothing etc), edge detection techniques (Edge enhanced, Sobel and Prewitt etc) and segmentation techniques; defects are inspected easily. In addition, the software has auxiliary tools (contrast adjusment, rotate tool, text tool etc) which are available in other image processing applications. IPRAD software provides an easy and efficient interface for radiographic image analysis. Since each stage of processes applied on an image can be saved separately, a more efficient and flexible inspection management can be realized while interpreting radiographic images. With IPRAD, the detection process of defects in radiographic images is made traceable, you can use it anytime for similar tasks.
